Bio:

Henk Brugge is a Dutch, Amsterdam based actor and producer, working - and awarded - internationally. He is known for British productions Silent Eye (part 4; 2019) by Simon Horrocks; feature film Surveilled (by Caroline Spence and James Smith of Raya Films) and television series Moreland's Firm by North East Films, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne/UK. In 2020 he played the part of a guru in feature film Deja Vu by Anna Morawska and Astrid Davtian.

Born in Purmerend, Province of North-Holland, The Netherlands, to Jan Brugge and Marie Brugge-De Vries. Growing up, he felt alien to everything surrounding him. Like his parents to begin with. Of which he thought lived in a 'different galaxy'. His aunt Bets (born 1923-alive) however, sister of his father, was a gifted violin player. And other members of the not-so-direct Brugge family were musicians, painters, artists.

Being a creative and imaginative youngster, Henk wanted to become an actor. At the tender age of 19, he auditioned for various drama schools ... to find that talent is not always greeted with open arms. Kindly, he was given some advice: get to know a bit of life and you might come back later. Henk didn't. He created a living, doing no-go jobs. Enterprising and always on the search 'to become what he is', Henk later on became a certified beautician and certified skin therapist, with an own practice. And then a certified interior designer. He learned how to design a small cupboard with three drawers, already knowing this was not 'it'. The cupboard remained a drawing board design, as he accidentally - or not - participated in a 1990 student's film. Then suddenly things became crystal clear and finally Henk was put back on track. From this moment on, and all through the 1990s, Henk developed himself, took private acting lessons, took singing lessons by veteran teacher Threes Orri (1915-1993), performed. As of 1997 he started his own business, determined to making a living out of acting. Both as an actor in film shorts and series as well as a role-play actor in training and assessment settings.

In 2020 he was selected to play a part in upcoming British feature film The Methodists by Johnny Kinch of Film.inc Productions. The script of this film already won a number of awards. And in 2021 Henk was awarded at a few international film festivals for Best Supporting Actor in Paul Nyamekye's short film Last Laugh and Best Actor in Trust.
