I grew up in a children’s home that my parents where the Superintendent & Matron of for Gloucester County Council until the age of 11.
While at school in Gloucester I got the bug for acting joining my Junior and Secondary School drama clubs. I was lucky enough to do some S.A work at the time on the BBC 1 “The Onedin Line” Filmed at Gloucester Docks.
We as a family then moved to Scotland where while still at school help my father work in forestry and Game Keeping on a large Estate. I also would help on the Estate livestock farm as well as Slaking and Field Sports. At this time unfortunately the acting took a back seat.
We returned from Scotland to the Cotswolds and a small village near Cirencester where my father became Butler to a Political Peer and my Mother Housekeeper. I would assist my Father in the role of Under Butler while doing a Hotel & Catering Management course. I went on to work For Forte Hotels & Restaurants working my way up to Management Level.
While working with my Parents & working in Hospitality I have had the pleasure to Personally to look after Politicians and our own Royal Family on many occasions.
We as a family decided that it was time to be our won bosses so we in the late 1990s bought our own Small Country Pub in South Somerset.
It was at this point that I was re-bitten by the acting bug after being approached on a few occasions by some Independent Producers who lived in the village. It wasn’t until just before the Covid Pandemic that I really acted, after taking on a new Bar Person who was Studying a B.A in Stage and Screen and being pushed by our local International Actor to go for it.
So today having trained with Mark Pegg and his Acting Academy and trained in the Method with Brian Timoney, I now have the need to act. So, I have done many roles with student productions with one winning an RTS South for best Comedy & Drama that only had myself and one other actor in. I’m happy to play Supporting and Lead roles as all roles are important to the story. Some small roles maybe fleeting but hold the key to why a character changes or is the way they are.
I believe that everyone on set is just as important as anyone else and should be treated with the same respect.
while being a member of a local Cat 5 Rifle range, I have also trained in the use of Firearms for TV & Film, becoming an onset Arourer & Safety Officer along the way.
With my training in Hospitality and working as Butler and Estate & then being a manager and subsequently a Business owner it also bring the qualities to all my characters, when called for.
