Disabled Actress: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
I am an Ambulatory Wheelchair User (Manual or Electric Wheelchair) but I can walk short distances unaided and longer distances with crutches, a walking stick or a walking frame. I do NOT have to he sat in my wheelchair. I can sit on a ‘normal’ chair,stool,sofa,bed or on the floor for example. I am also very good at using props suitable to the character I am cast as to help ‘keep me on my feet’ if the character is not disabled. I do not let my disability define me and very much work around it and not against it.
