About this Event

After attending the screening of his 'Steps' movie in Southend, Darren & Alex from vShowcards met Director Sam Weeks and forged a relationship with this young, very talented director. After being cast in his next project (Dissimulation), they brought the director to vShowcards who then cast the rest of Dissimulation from the vShowcards membership. In a crime-soaked city of the future Gene grapples with an identity crisis inflicted by wondrous yet frightening advances in human technology. Reality blurs between man and machine, as Gene finds his path in this new world of artificial intelligence.

Inside the Event

We all had an amazing time in rehearsals, forging a great bond between the cast and crew before shooting the film in Maidstone Studios. Sam Weeks and his crew absolutely blew everyone away with their incredible set design, costumes and props for this dystopian sci-fi short. The premiere at BAFTA attracted a large section of the vShowcards community for this spectacle.
